Uniformity: Achieving uniform thin films over large areas can be difficult. Particulates: The process can generate particulates that may affect film quality. Material Limitations: Some materials may not be suitable for PLD due to their physical or chemical properties. Cost: The equipment and operational costs can be high, making it less accessible for some applications.
