What are the Main Approaches to Nanomanufacturing?
There are two primary approaches to nanomanufacturing: top-down and bottom-up.
Top-down Approach: This method involves starting from a bulk material and then removing material to create nanoscale structures. Techniques include lithography, etching, and mechanical machining. Bottom-up Approach: This approach assembles nanoscale materials from atomic or molecular components. Methods include chemical vapor deposition (CVD), self-assembly, and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE).
