Despite its advantages, BPM faces several challenges. The fabrication process is complex and costly, requiring advanced lithography and self-assembly techniques. Additionally, aligning the read/write heads with the tiny magnetic islands requires high precision, which can be difficult to achieve. Finally, developing suitable materials that can maintain their magnetic properties at such small scales is an ongoing area of research.
