Despite their advantages, there are several challenges associated with the development and implementation of SACs:
Stability: Single atoms can migrate or agglomerate during catalytic reactions, leading to a loss of activity. Synthesis: Achieving uniform dispersion of single atoms on the support material is technically challenging. Characterization: Identifying and characterizing single atoms require advanced techniques such as scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS).
