Despite their advantages, developing gel-based electrolytes comes with several challenges. One primary issue is achieving a balance between ionic conductivity and mechanical stability. High concentrations of liquid electrolytes can enhance conductivity but may compromise the gel's mechanical properties. Additionally, ensuring the uniform distribution of nanostructures within the polymer matrix can be difficult.
