Freezing: The material is rapidly frozen to convert water into ice. Primary Drying (Sublimation): The pressure is reduced, and heat is applied to cause the ice to sublimate directly into vapor. Secondary Drying (Desorption): Any remaining water molecules are removed by further reducing the pressure and slightly increasing the temperature.
