These particles mimic the natural cellular membranes, allowing them to merge with the cell membrane and release the mRNA into the cytoplasm. This process is known as endocytosis. Once inside the cell, the mRNA is translated into the viral spike protein, prompting the immune system to recognize and combat the virus.
