Nanodiamond abrasives are typically produced through a process known as detonation synthesis. This method involves detonating carbon-containing explosives in a controlled environment, resulting in the formation of nanodiamonds. The resulting nanodiamonds are then purified and refined to remove any impurities or non-diamond carbon structures. Other production methods include chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) synthesis.
