There are various methods for synthesizing metal nanowires. Common techniques include the template method, where nanowires are grown within the pores of a template such as an anodic aluminum oxide membrane. Another method is the polyol process, which involves the reduction of metal salts in a polyol medium at high temperatures. Additionally, the vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) method is used for synthesizing semiconductor nanowires but can also be adapted for metal nanowires.
