Several types of nanomaterials are being explored for use in divertors. Carbon-based materials, such as carbon nanotubes and graphene, are known for their excellent thermal conductivity and mechanical strength. Ceramic nanocomposites, which include materials like silicon carbide (SiC) and tungsten carbide (WC), offer superior resistance to thermal shock and erosion.
