The Reticuloendothelial System (RES), also known as the mononuclear phagocyte system, is a network of cells that play a critical role in the body’s immune defense. Comprising primarily of macrophages and monocytes, the RES is responsible for removing dead cells, pathogens, and other foreign substances from the bloodstream and tissues.
