Some countries have started to implement regulations that address the unique challenges posed by nanotechnology. For instance, the European Union has included nanomaterials in its REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals). This requires companies to provide detailed information about the safety of nanomaterials. Another example is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) guidelines for the reporting and testing of nanomaterials under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
