Adult stem cells are undifferentiated cells found throughout the body after development. They multiply by cell division to replenish dying cells and regenerate damaged tissues. Unlike embryonic stem cells, which can become any cell type in the body, adult stem cells are typically limited to differentiating into the cell types of their tissue of origin.
