While both SEM and TEM are used to visualize nanoscale structures, they have different applications:
- SEM: Provides detailed images of surfaces by scanning with a focused beam of electrons. It is excellent for studying surface topography and composition.
- TEM: Transmits electrons through a specimen to form an image. It is used for examining internal structures at very high resolutions.
