Similar to traditional FETs, CNT transistors operate by controlling the flow of electrons through a channel between the source and drain terminals. The gate terminal modulates the electrical conductivity of the CNT channel. When a voltage is applied to the gate, it changes the energy bands of the CNT, either allowing or preventing electron flow between the source and drain.
