The manufacturing process involves two main steps. First, a polymer film is exposed to a beam of heavy ions under controlled conditions. This creates latent tracks in the film. In the second step, these tracks are chemically etched to form cylindrical nanopores. The size and density of these pores can be meticulously controlled based on the etching duration and conditions.
